Austin/the SM/Barrett keeps trying to make The Shaggs/IBWMB perform again and they keep resisting, by murdering him. They impale him on drum stands, pummel him, smack him with cymbals. He just keeps re-animating.
At the Fringe, it can feel like everyone is on the hunt to discover this year\u2019s hot young things, truffling for the pupal talents of early-twenties hopefuls fresh from training. Well, maybe they\u2019re looking in the wrong places.
Christine Thynne is an emerging artist in her eighties, performing her first solo show, These Mechanisms, made in collaboration with choreographer Robbie Synge. Thynne began dancing aged 68, after taking a class for over-60s at Dance Base, where her show is now programmed. She has long been concerned, however, with the body and what it can do, having trained as a physiotherapist in the 1960s. Not that any of this is offered as exposition in These Mechanisms, which sidesteps the well-trodden path of autobiography (it\u2019s not hard to imagine the feel-good narrative version of this piece about overcoming stigma and finding a new lease of life). Rather, in the vein of artists such as Quarantine or J\u00E9r\u00F4me Bel, it\u2019s more akin to portraiture, centring Thynne at this particular moment in her life, but letting the body speak, first and foremost.
Onstage, Thynne is in her element and instantly likeable, pulling off the art of a warm audience welcome and gentle, reassuring self-deprecation \u2013 things may not go to plan today, she briefs us before embarking on the show, so \u201Cworst case scenario, do not resuscitate\u201D. She banters with her onstage \u2018helper\u2019 and sound designer, Calum (Paterson). We listen to her record a granular description of a series of movements \u2013 \u201Cbend arm to full flexion, roll over left shoulder\u201D \u2013 and then watch her perform these manoeuvres to the playback of her own voice. She manipulates step ladders, wooden planks and jerry cans of water into simple systems for the transferral of energy, weight and support. She negotiates the job of arranging these materials and running back to the microphone in time to deliver a verses of a looping rap.
Her tasks flirt with risk and cheekily undercut our expectations of what an octogenarian performer might choose to devise for themselves. Paterson\u2019s sound design isolates and loops fragments of Thynne\u2019s speech, and occasionally indulges in lush guitar pieces (depending on your temperament and threshold for sentimentality, these either imbue the mundane physical tasks with beauty, or stray dangerously into schmaltz; it\u2019s a bit of both for me).
Whilst age is certainly an active ingredient in These Mechanisms (and \u2018emerging 83-year-old artist\u2019 is an attention-grabbing lede), its delicate, balanced and open-ended choreographic material is more holistic than that. After all, everyone\u2019s bodies have their own limitations, idiosyncrasies, knowledges and desires, and we all have the potential to do new things with our bodies that expand how we think about and exist with them. Watching the show, my mind takes a detour to pro-Palestine protesters putting their bodies on the line, and headlines highlighting elderly people amongst those arrested for decrying the proscription of Palestine Action. Thynne and Synge\u2019s piece makes a case, quietly but firmly, for exploiting the possibilities that always exist within limitation \u2013 of risk, discovery, courage and joy.
This review can only ever capture the tiniest part of Aether, TheatreGoose\u2019s dizzying new show. It\u2019s a mere smudge on the windowpane of what they\u2019ve created; the visible matter to the vast, unknowable anti-matter of the universe.
This is what TheatreGoose are interested in: the great unknown. As the show begins, they tell us that everything we can see in blue \u2013 the heavy velvet curtain that hugs around the small performance space, the whiteboard markers laid out on the desks in front of us in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre \u2013 represents what we know about the universe, what we\u2019re able to see. And everything else in this room and the city beyond is what we don\u2019t know. The invisible mystery.
It’s a bold opening gambit. How do you make a show about all the things we can\u2019t see? The answer is with a performance that\u2019s part magic trick, part lecture (though don\u2019t let that put you off), and part existential crisis. It begins with a beauty parade of elementary particles (yes, really) before interweaving the stories of multiple women from history: fourth-century Egyptian mathematician and philosopher Hypatia, teenage Victorian medium Florence Cook, vaudeville magician Adelaide Herrmann, and astronomer Vera Rubin. Loosely holding everything together is the fictional narrative of Sophie, a PhD student working with data from the Large Hadron Collider and obsessing over the secrets of the universe.
Aether deals with mysteries both natural and supernatural, questioning the limits of scientific knowledge. It\u2019s one of the knottiest and most intellectually dazzling shows you\u2019re likely to see at the Fringe \u2013 or anywhere, for that matter. Where else can you get particle physics, seances, Plato\u2019s Cave and musings on the mathematics of takeaway orders all in one hour? And if that sounds dry and academically aloof, it\u2019s not. Performed with precision and dynamism by the four-strong, black-clad ensemble, this is a knowingly, joyfully theatrical piece, filled with humour and movement and glorious little flourishes. Like the clever use of an overhead projector, or the way the performance leans into its lecture theatre surroundings.
These words are, of course, a paltry approximation. I can\u2019t even begin to describe all the small gestures of the performers, the expressive flicks of wrists and movements of eyes, the countless tiny and sometimes invisible elements that add up to a feeling, an impression. The rest is lost, unseen, forgotten. Gliding by in front of me and escaping my limited, fallible perception. But, as Aether suggests, the mystery is part of the joy.
Welcome to the last launderette in the Isle of Wight. Ozzy Algar, a Gaulier-trained clown, is Pet: the old woman who runs the \u2018Speed Queen\u2019 laundry shop, who knows all the mucky secrets of the island\u2019s inhabitants, and who wants to get her hands on yours, too. And she does: at one point, the audience are encouraged to take off their socks, which she pegs on a washing line held by an audience member. There was a slightly sniggery reticence from the audience on the night I watched, baffling given Algar manages the crowd work with a quick wit. But I was more than happy to de-sock for Pet, a character both eerily ominous and wistfully whimsical \u2013 I mean, I\u2019d probably have given her whatever she asked for.
Algar is swaddles in a great coat and headscarf, with white make-up that\u2019s part clown, part old lady whose eyesight is not what it once was. Her hands are held like arthritic claws, and she has a creaky old rusted-hinge of a voice \u2013 but when she fixes you with a piercing stare, there\u2019s a hint of dangerous mania dancing in the eyes.
Directed by Tanika Lay-Meachen, Speed Queen spins funny-haha and funny-peculiar together in careful balance, as Pet regales us with uneasy stories from the island: it\u2019s history and residents, its former glory, and current decline. Her tales have a mysterious, supernatural edge but are often cut with a telling, or banally funny, contemporary detail. One adulterous couple saw a strange light in the island\u2019s hedgerows, that revealed vision of its history and future, from Roman soldiers to a 15-story TK Maxx.
Pet was a showgirl, once, performing at the Ventnor Winter Gardens \u2013 \u201Cseven shows a week and 12 on Sundays\u201D \u2013 and there\u2019s a lovely interlude where Algar strips off to reveal lace-frilled undergarments and gives us a song. Overall, the piece hangs together delicately, and feels like it could benefit from greater linking material or a stronger through-line. But Algar\u2019s compellingly weird storytelling and oddball comic timing has got cult-following potential. If shivery character comedy about English eccentrics \u2013 think League of Gentlemen \u2013 is your thing, then give Speed Queen a spin.
Victoria Melody\u2019s \u2018thing\u2019 is to embed herself with groups of hobbyists \u2013 pigeon racers; beauty queens \u2013 and then make a show out it. Her latest is based on her time joining an English Civil War historical re-enactment society, as a good distraction from a bad divorce. The inspiration was reading about the Diggers, a group of 17th century religious radicals who wanted to reclaim England\u2019s common land and grow their own food on it. Unfortunately, she accidentally wound up joining the wrong side \u2013 becoming a musketeer for the Royalists\u2026
Directed by Mark Thomas, this a fringe-perfect format; Melody stands in front of us in her (rather adorable) red woollen musketeer outfit, telling her story with an infectiously enthusiastic directness. Placards topped with the faces of people she encounters along the way, an embroidered banner, and buckets of knitted vegetables surround the stage (I covet the veg). But Trouble is less about The Diggers themselves or her fellow re-enactors \u2013 although their earnest commitment to historical accuracy does become a running gag \u2013 and more about a community Melody also becomes embedded in, on the Whitehawk council estate on the outskirts of Brighton. https://sites.google.com/view/worknet-jobs-yeshellce

My phone was stolen and I called but they obvioulsy had taken out the sim.They’ve logged out all my google accounts,twitter,facebook,viber and I’m thinking that they did a factory reset!Is there anyway I can track my phone?It was a sony xperia m
If you know the IMEI, you can at least report it as stolen. The cell companies can block that phone from their network (both CDMA (non-sim) and GSM (sim) networks can do this; CDMA networks call it ESN instead of IMEI). However, I highly doubt they will help you locate it, even if they could track it.
You can find the IMEI if you kept the original packaging; usually it’s on the box or on a sticker in the manuals. Again, you need the foresight to either copy the IMEI or keep the original packing materials.
If you enabled Google Location tracking, you can view a map of the location history for the device. If the thief didn’t wipe the device right away, this could give you some clues as to their whereabouts.
If you really want to track it down, you could use that location information and see if there are any security cameras in the area (ask the shops to see if you can view their security tapes). If anything turns up, give the information to the police, and don’t try any heroics.
Hello all …I recently had the problem start at work sitting on my wireless desk charger. Got the moisture symbol and when I got home the constant noise. Tried lots of cables, turning off, etc. No joy. So I tried device maintenance in setting, meaning all the battery and other junk, turned off all background programs. I then took a small peice of tissue, thin tshirt material over the charging port and plugged in my charger, cleaned my charging port. This cleaned off small amounts of dirt/debris and the moisture symbol and noise went away. We shall see if this lasts. So far so good over night.
Hello everyone. This problem started to happen to me after i immersed my phone in salty water….into the sea. Nothing worked but AFTER I WASHED THE CHARGING PORT WITH NORMAL WATER ( thinking like washing the salt away) everything worked fine
I have been having issues with my GS9+ saying this for almost a freaking week now! Started with the last system update. It was charging on a cord and got to 97% and then woke me up with the stupid beeping from the warning! It was NOT actual moisture. This is such a life saver! Thank you!
I’ve had this issue several times also. Turning off phone does not work. I needed to dry port with hair dryer, AND store overnight in a sealed tupperware filled with rice. You’re right, very annoying.
Some of these posts are funny you shouldn’t have this issue at all! I am on hollidays in the phillipines a very humid enviroment i am here for 5 weeks the only thing i can do to get past it is disconnect the charger reboot then when the samsung sign has scrawled across the screen in full insert the charger that works for me i have tryed rice hairdryer that didnt help me i will be blasting my provider when i get home hope this works for you!
You could have dirty contacts in the charging port. I work in a very dusty paper mill and I’ll get a moisture warning when the charging port gets dirty. Use 90% isopropyl alcohol or electronic parts cleaner and a toothbrush to clean the port. Then blow it out with canned air if you can.
Firstly though I went into settings .device apps,usb settings then clear cache, to make sure it was not phone.,it wasn’t,t, it was minute moisture as phone was in my pocket , probably upside down, and I got wet walking in
I can bypass the issue by plugging in the charger while it is booting up. Regardless Samsung needs to fix this issue. I am afraid if I send in my device they will tell me I am at fault even though I know my tablet never came into contact with water….
First go into safe mode and find out if its a hardware or software problem. Restart phone, press both volume and power buttons while its restarting to get there. While in safe mode try the charger. If you get the same $@$* its the hardware, so theres some kind of moisture dmg. Follow the drying instructions.
If it goes away then its something in the software or operating system. Luckily i found a quick easy fix. Boot phone normally and just goto setting and use the device maintenance option. This should fix the problems if its a usb cache or memory error.
If problem persists you might have to wipe the storage/disc partition or try clearing cache manually. The details for this you can find easily with a google search. Just type (phone model here) wipe partition OR wipe cache
Ι’ve had the same problem with my samsung galaxy s7 edge. It’s supposed to be waterproof, so last night when I had a beach party and my phone slipped off my hand and got dirt all over it, I put it’s charging port into the sea. I didn’t really think of it until I came home and the detector kept going off. I didn’t do anything then, but today, I rinsed it off with clean water and used a toothbrush and a swab to clean the dirt off. I used a blow dryer to its lowest level and blow dried the water off. The problem was solved.
Was having this issue after a recent Android update. Clearing the cache for the Android System fixed it. Go to Settings > Apps. Tap the …, Choose show system apps. Tap Android System, then tap Storage > Clear Cache.
Assuming zero moisture exposure, shut phone down, plug charger in, reboot phone. It takes a minute but error will clear. This has saved my S9 every time. I have noticed if my charger is plugged in but not charging, it throws this error. Confirmed nothing wrong with charging cord. If phone battery is dead you will need to charge wirelessly to around 10% before attempting reboot. Also if phone is HOT allow to cool a bit first.
This is the only trick that fixed my problem. I was so frustrated that I actually bought a S23. But I kept my S10 because I liked it more than the new phone. I will be returning the S23 in the morning. Thanks Colin… you saved me $1,200.
On a Galaxy S8 I tried all the ideas presented in this thread but nothing worked. Finally the only method I found was to power-off the phone, then power-on without the charging cable connected (it does not start otherwise), then immediately after the logo is shown on the screen, plug the charging cable. There is no more moisture error after that and I could get normal charging (fast charging is not working in this way for some reason). Removing the cable and plugging it back in gives the same moisture error so for a recharge I need to start over with the power-off -> power-on cycle.
That didn’t work for me, but getting the phone into safe mode worked. Then I could plug it in to charge. To do that, turn off the phone. After a 20 second break, you press both the volume up and power on buttons at the same time till the Android sign appears. Then with one finger still holding down the power button, you press the volume down button several times, and the phone will say safe mode. Then you can charge it with no message.
I am a electronic technician and Java Software Programmer with 24 years, so I attempted all suggestions in here and did even many other “tricks” but NOTHING worked. I am convinced it was NOT a HARDWARE problem. So I suspected it was a software issue, a misbehaving app? virus? OS/firmware corrupted? or something like that so….. I reset to factory reset and now all is working fine. Unfortunatedly, I lost many files but restore about 80% succesfully thanks to two things:
I experienced the moisture indicator problem on my customer’s Note 10 Plus. She was positive that it had not been exposed to moisture. I tried all of the non-invasive methods mentioned in previous posts, with no benefit. Through process of elimination, I concluded that there was a failure of the moisture sensor on the charging port board. So I replaced it, making sure to perfectly match the model number on the board with that of the phone. (This is extremely important as a slight mismatch will result in the device going into a semi-airplane mode.) Problem resolved. In this instance the issue was physical, not a defect in Samsung’s programming or software.
I wanted to put a comment up . I had same issue on two of my phones my s9 plus . And then my husband gave me his note 10 plus when he upgraded I thought yes I can finally charge via a cable .. 2 weeks later moisture alert.. I was gutted. I took the phone to a phone repair shop as I was not letting this damm moisture alert beat me. 40 and its fixed. My last phone was my sons and he was bad for knocking the phone when then phone was plugged into charger and my husbands note 10 plus was on his motorbike on a charger so the vibrations had caused a wire on a board to come loose causing the phone the think there was water in the charger port or dirt.. Its a simple fix but I would recommend just taking your phone to a repair shop. I have had no issues with my note 10 plus since.
samsung is a garbage company that purposefully do this stuff to make you keep buying new phones, def switching to an iphone. anyways in 2023 ive tried basically all these methods and none of them work but i have found something similar to a popular one. so whenever you force stop the “Android System” app which others have talked about it does get rid of the notification but still doesnt let you charge. to bypass that, put your phone on the higher battery saving mode which limits all background activity, then force stop android system twice and plug your charger in. even if theres the beeping from the alert just keep it in for a few seconds and it should work, it did for me. im just sick of this i factory reset my phone without backing up my photos so theyre all gone now. save yourself the pain and get a different phone after https://sites.google.com/view/windows-server-2008-giovjan59

He just keeps re-animating.
At the Fringe, it can feel like everyone is on the hunt to discover this year\u2019s hot young things, truffling for the pupal talents of early-twenties hopefuls fresh from training. Well, maybe they\u2019re looking in the wrong places.
Christine Thynne is an emerging artist in her eighties, performing her first solo show, These Mechanisms, made in collaboration with choreographer Robbie Synge. Thynne began dancing aged 68, after taking a class for over-60s at Dance Base, where her show is now programmed. She has long been concerned, however, with the body and what it can do, having trained as a physiotherapist in the 1960s. Not that any of this is offered as exposition in These Mechanisms, which sidesteps the well-trodden path of autobiography (it\u2019s not hard to imagine the feel-good narrative version of this piece about overcoming stigma and finding a new lease of life). Rather, in the vein of artists such as Quarantine or J\u00E9r\u00F4me Bel, it\u2019s more akin to portraiture, centring Thynne at this particular moment in her life, but letting the body speak, first and foremost.
Onstage, Thynne is in her element and instantly likeable, pulling off the art of a warm audience welcome and gentle, reassuring self-deprecation \u2013 things may not go to plan today, she briefs us before embarking on the show, so \u201Cworst case scenario, do not resuscitate\u201D. She banters with her onstage \u2018helper\u2019 and sound designer, Calum (Paterson). We listen to her record a granular description of a series of movements \u2013 \u201Cbend arm to full flexion, roll over left shoulder\u201D \u2013 and then watch her perform these manoeuvres to the playback of her own voice. She manipulates step ladders, wooden planks and jerry cans of water into simple systems for the transferral of energy, weight and support. She negotiates the job of arranging these materials and running back to the microphone in time to deliver a verses of a looping rap.
Her tasks flirt with risk and cheekily undercut our expectations of what an octogenarian performer might choose to devise for themselves. Paterson\u2019s sound design isolates and loops fragments of Thynne\u2019s speech, and occasionally indulges in lush guitar pieces (depending on your temperament and threshold for sentimentality, these either imbue the mundane physical tasks with beauty, or stray dangerously into schmaltz; it\u2019s a bit of both for me).
Whilst age is certainly an active ingredient in These Mechanisms (and \u2018emerging 83-year-old artist\u2019 is an attention-grabbing lede), its delicate, balanced and open-ended choreographic material is more holistic than that. After all, everyone\u2019s bodies have their own limitations, idiosyncrasies, knowledges and desires, and we all have the potential to do new things with our bodies that expand how we think about and exist with them. Watching the show, my mind takes a detour to pro-Palestine protesters putting their bodies on the line, and headlines highlighting elderly people amongst those arrested for decrying the proscription of Palestine Action. Thynne and Synge\u2019s piece makes a case, quietly but firmly, for exploiting the possibilities that always exist within limitation \u2013 of risk, discovery, courage and joy.
This review can only ever capture the tiniest part of Aether, TheatreGoose\u2019s dizzying new show. It\u2019s a mere smudge on the windowpane of what they\u2019ve created; the visible matter to the vast, unknowable anti-matter of the universe.
This is what TheatreGoose are interested in: the great unknown. As the show begins, they tell us that everything we can see in blue \u2013 the heavy velvet curtain that hugs around the small performance space, the whiteboard markers laid out on the desks in front of us in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre \u2013 represents what we know about the universe, what we\u2019re able to see. And everything else in this room and the city beyond is what we don\u2019t know. The invisible mystery.
It’s a bold opening gambit. How do you make a show about all the things we can\u2019t see? The answer is with a performance that\u2019s part magic trick, part lecture (though don\u2019t let that put you off), and part existential crisis. It begins with a beauty parade of elementary particles (yes, really) before interweaving the stories of multiple women from history: fourth-century Egyptian mathematician and philosopher Hypatia, teenage Victorian medium Florence Cook, vaudeville magician Adelaide Herrmann, and astronomer Vera Rubin. Loosely holding everything together is the fictional narrative of Sophie, a PhD student working with data from the Large Hadron Collider and obsessing over the secrets of the universe.
Aether deals with mysteries both natural and supernatural, questioning the limits of scientific knowledge. It\u2019s one of the knottiest and most intellectually dazzling shows you\u2019re likely to see at the Fringe \u2013 or anywhere, for that matter. Where else can you get particle physics, seances, Plato\u2019s Cave and musings on the mathematics of takeaway orders all in one hour? And if that sounds dry and academically aloof, it\u2019s not. Performed with precision and dynamism by the four-strong, black-clad ensemble, this is a knowingly, joyfully theatrical piece, filled with humour and movement and glorious little flourishes. Like the clever use of an overhead projector, or the way the performance leans into its lecture theatre surroundings.
These words are, of course, a paltry approximation. I can\u2019t even begin to describe all the small gestures of the performers, the expressive flicks of wrists and movements of eyes, the countless tiny and sometimes invisible elements that add up to a feeling, an impression. The rest is lost, unseen, forgotten. Gliding by in front of me and escaping my limited, fallible perception. But, as Aether suggests, the mystery is part of the joy.
Welcome to the last launderette in the Isle of Wight. Ozzy Algar, a Gaulier-trained clown, is Pet: the old woman who runs the \u2018Speed Queen\u2019 laundry shop, who knows all the mucky secrets of the island\u2019s inhabitants, and who wants to get her hands on yours, too. And she does: at one point, the audience are encouraged to take off their socks, which she pegs on a washing line held by an audience member. There was a slightly sniggery reticence from the audience on the night I watched, baffling given Algar manages the crowd work with a quick wit. But I was more than happy to de-sock for Pet, a character both eerily ominous and wistfully whimsical \u2013 I mean, I\u2019d probably have given her whatever she asked for.
Algar is swaddles in a great coat and headscarf, with white make-up that\u2019s part clown, part old lady whose eyesight is not what it once was. Her hands are held like arthritic claws, and she has a creaky old rusted-hinge of a voice \u2013 but when she fixes you with a piercing stare, there\u2019s a hint of dangerous mania dancing in the eyes.
Directed by Tanika Lay-Meachen, Speed Queen spins funny-haha and funny-peculiar together in careful balance, as Pet regales us with uneasy stories from the island: it\u2019s history and residents, its former glory, and current decline. Her tales have a mysterious, supernatural edge but are often cut with a telling, or banally funny, contemporary detail. One adulterous couple saw a strange light in the island\u2019s hedgerows, that revealed vision of its history and future, from Roman soldiers to a 15-story TK Maxx.
Pet was a showgirl, once, performing at the Ventnor Winter Gardens \u2013 \u201Cseven shows a week and 12 on Sundays\u201D \u2013 and there\u2019s a lovely interlude where Algar strips off to reveal lace-frilled undergarments and gives us a song. Overall, the piece hangs together delicately, and feels like it could benefit from greater linking material or a stronger through-line. But Algar\u2019s compellingly weird storytelling and oddball comic timing has got cult-following potential. If shivery character comedy about English eccentrics \u2013 think League of Gentlemen \u2013 is your thing, then give Speed Queen a spin.
Victoria Melody\u2019s \u2018thing\u2019 is to embed herself with groups of hobbyists \u2013 pigeon racers; beauty queens \u2013 and then make a show out it. Her latest is based on her time joining an English Civil War historical re-enactment society, as a good distraction from a bad divorce. The inspiration was reading about the Diggers, a group of 17th century religious radicals who wanted to reclaim England\u2019s common land and grow their own food on it. Unfortunately, she accidentally wound up joining the wrong side \u2013 becoming a musketeer for the Royalists\u2026
Directed by Mark Thomas, this a fringe-perfect format; Melody stands in front of us in her (rather adorable) red woollen musketeer outfit, telling her story with an infectiously enthusiastic directness. Placards topped with the faces of people she encounters along the way, an embroidered banner, and buckets of knitted vegetables surround the stage (I covet the veg). But Trouble is less about The Diggers themselves or her fellow re-enactors \u2013 although their earnest commitment to historical accuracy does become a running gag \u2013 and more about a community Melody also becomes embedded in, on the Whitehawk council estate on the outskirts of Brighton. https://sites.google.com/view/worknet-jobs-yeshellce

If you know the IMEI, you can at least report it as stolen. The cell companies can block that phone from their network (both CDMA (non-sim) and GSM (sim) networks can do this; CDMA networks call it ESN instead of IMEI). However, I highly doubt they will help you locate it, even if they could track it.
You can find the IMEI if you kept the original packaging; usually it’s on the box or on a sticker in the manuals. Again, you need the foresight to either copy the IMEI or keep the original packing materials.
If you enabled Google Location tracking, you can view a map of the location history for the device. If the thief didn’t wipe the device right away, this could give you some clues as to their whereabouts.
If you really want to track it down, you could use that location information and see if there are any security cameras in the area (ask the shops to see if you can view their security tapes). If anything turns up, give the information to the police, and don’t try any heroics.
Hello all …I recently had the problem start at work sitting on my wireless desk charger. Got the moisture symbol and when I got home the constant noise. Tried lots of cables, turning off, etc. No joy. So I tried device maintenance in setting, meaning all the battery and other junk, turned off all background programs. I then took a small peice of tissue, thin tshirt material over the charging port and plugged in my charger, cleaned my charging port. This cleaned off small amounts of dirt/debris and the moisture symbol and noise went away. We shall see if this lasts. So far so good over night.
Hello everyone. This problem started to happen to me after i immersed my phone in salty water….into the sea. Nothing worked but AFTER I WASHED THE CHARGING PORT WITH NORMAL WATER ( thinking like washing the salt away) everything worked fine
I have been having issues with my GS9+ saying this for almost a freaking week now! Started with the last system update. It was charging on a cord and got to 97% and then woke me up with the stupid beeping from the warning! It was NOT actual moisture. This is such a life saver! Thank you!
I’ve had this issue several times also. Turning off phone does not work. I needed to dry port with hair dryer, AND store overnight in a sealed tupperware filled with rice. You’re right, very annoying.
Some of these posts are funny you shouldn’t have this issue at all! I am on hollidays in the phillipines a very humid enviroment i am here for 5 weeks the only thing i can do to get past it is disconnect the charger reboot then when the samsung sign has scrawled across the screen in full insert the charger that works for me i have tryed rice hairdryer that didnt help me i will be blasting my provider when i get home hope this works for you!
You could have dirty contacts in the charging port. I work in a very dusty paper mill and I’ll get a moisture warning when the charging port gets dirty. Use 90% isopropyl alcohol or electronic parts cleaner and a toothbrush to clean the port. Then blow it out with canned air if you can.
Firstly though I went into settings .device apps,usb settings then clear cache, to make sure it was not phone.,it wasn’t,t, it was minute moisture as phone was in my pocket , probably upside down, and I got wet walking in
I can bypass the issue by plugging in the charger while it is booting up. Regardless Samsung needs to fix this issue. I am afraid if I send in my device they will tell me I am at fault even though I know my tablet never came into contact with water….
First go into safe mode and find out if its a hardware or software problem. Restart phone, press both volume and power buttons while its restarting to get there. While in safe mode try the charger. If you get the same $@$* its the hardware, so theres some kind of moisture dmg. Follow the drying instructions.
If it goes away then its something in the software or operating system. Luckily i found a quick easy fix. Boot phone normally and just goto setting and use the device maintenance option. This should fix the problems if its a usb cache or memory error.
If problem persists you might have to wipe the storage/disc partition or try clearing cache manually. The details for this you can find easily with a google search. Just type (phone model here) wipe partition OR wipe cache
Ι’ve had the same problem with my samsung galaxy s7 edge. It’s supposed to be waterproof, so last night when I had a beach party and my phone slipped off my hand and got dirt all over it, I put it’s charging port into the sea. I didn’t really think of it until I came home and the detector kept going off. I didn’t do anything then, but today, I rinsed it off with clean water and used a toothbrush and a swab to clean the dirt off. I used a blow dryer to its lowest level and blow dried the water off. The problem was solved.
Was having this issue after a recent Android update. Clearing the cache for the Android System fixed it. Go to Settings > Apps. Tap the …, Choose show system apps. Tap Android System, then tap Storage > Clear Cache.
Assuming zero moisture exposure, shut phone down, plug charger in, reboot phone. It takes a minute but error will clear. This has saved my S9 every time. I have noticed if my charger is plugged in but not charging, it throws this error. Confirmed nothing wrong with charging cord. If phone battery is dead you will need to charge wirelessly to around 10% before attempting reboot. Also if phone is HOT allow to cool a bit first.
This is the only trick that fixed my problem. I was so frustrated that I actually bought a S23. But I kept my S10 because I liked it more than the new phone. I will be returning the S23 in the morning. Thanks Colin… you saved me $1,200.
On a Galaxy S8 I tried all the ideas presented in this thread but nothing worked. Finally the only method I found was to power-off the phone, then power-on without the charging cable connected (it does not start otherwise), then immediately after the logo is shown on the screen, plug the charging cable. There is no more moisture error after that and I could get normal charging (fast charging is not working in this way for some reason). Removing the cable and plugging it back in gives the same moisture error so for a recharge I need to start over with the power-off -> power-on cycle.
That didn’t work for me, but getting the phone into safe mode worked. Then I could plug it in to charge. To do that, turn off the phone. After a 20 second break, you press both the volume up and power on buttons at the same time till the Android sign appears. Then with one finger still holding down the power button, you press the volume down button several times, and the phone will say safe mode. Then you can charge it with no message.
I am a electronic technician and Java Software Programmer with 24 years, so I attempted all suggestions in here and did even many other “tricks” but NOTHING worked. I am convinced it was NOT a HARDWARE problem. So I suspected it was a software issue, a misbehaving app? virus? OS/firmware corrupted? or something like that so….. I reset to factory reset and now all is working fine. Unfortunatedly, I lost many files but restore about 80% succesfully thanks to two things:
I experienced the moisture indicator problem on my customer’s Note 10 Plus. She was positive that it had not been exposed to moisture. I tried all of the non-invasive methods mentioned in previous posts, with no benefit. Through process of elimination, I concluded that there was a failure of the moisture sensor on the charging port board. So I replaced it, making sure to perfectly match the model number on the board with that of the phone. (This is extremely important as a slight mismatch will result in the device going into a semi-airplane mode.) Problem resolved. In this instance the issue was physical, not a defect in Samsung’s programming or software.

And then my husband gave me his note 10 plus when he upgraded I thought yes I can finally charge via a cable .. 2 weeks later moisture alert.. I was gutted. I took the phone to a phone repair shop as I was not letting this damm moisture alert beat me. 40 and its fixed. My last phone was my sons and he was bad for knocking the phone when then phone was plugged into charger and my husbands note 10 plus was on his motorbike on a charger so the vibrations had caused a wire on a board to come loose causing the phone the think there was water in the charger port or dirt.. Its a simple fix but I would recommend just taking your phone to a repair shop. I have had no issues with my note 10 plus since.
samsung is a garbage company that purposefully do this stuff to make you keep buying new phones, def switching to an iphone. anyways in 2023 ive tried basically all these methods and none of them work but i have found something similar to a popular one. so whenever you force stop the “Android System” app which others have talked about it does get rid of the notification but still doesnt let you charge. to bypass that, put your phone on the higher battery saving mode which limits all background activity, then force stop android system twice and plug your charger in. even if theres the beeping from the alert just keep it in for a few seconds and it should work, it did for me. im just sick of this i factory reset my phone without backing up my photos so theyre all gone now. save yourself the pain and get a different phone after https://sites.google.com/view/windows-server-2008-giovjan59
